GoDefy > Help > Interpreting Search Results
Search results pages are packed with information. Here's a quick guide to what you'll find:
- Search results are ranked in order of best match by default.
- Click the title of a listing to go to the product page, which offers more information about the product or service.
- Click the category, author, or company links to view all the products and services belonging to the category, author, or company, respectively.
- Click the open new window icons
displayed to the right of text links to open the link in a new web browser window. This way you can view more than one product or merchant webpage at the same time, and not lose the page you are viewing.
Sample Search Results Page
Here is a sample search results page, along with brief explanations of the various types of information on the page.
- GoDefy logo - Click the logo to go to the homepage.
- Account links - Click on the links to sign up, log in, or access your GoDefy member account.
- Saved Items link - Displays the number of Saved Items in your member account when you're logged in. Click the link to visit the Saved Items page.
- Comparison Lists link - Displays the number of saved Comparison Lists in your member account when you're logged in. Click the link to visit the Comparison Lists page.
- Help link - Anytime you're stuck, click the "Help" link for more options.
- Search box - To do a search on GoDefy, just type in one or more descriptive search terms into the search box.
- GoDefy Search button - Click this button, or press "Enter" on your keyboard, to submit a search query.
- Advanced Search link - Click this link to go to the Advanced Search page where you can do more precise searches. You may also find Advanced Search Tips useful.
- Search Help link - Click this link for the basics of using GoDefy search.
- Breadcrumb trail - For quick and easy reference of where you are in the site. The links allow you to backtrack and to move up the hierarchy.
- Search results - Describes your search and displays the total number of results.
- Compare Items link - Click these links to quickly compare the top 2, 3, 4 or 5 items.
- Save Items link - Click these links to quickly save the top 2, 3, 4 or 5 items.
- Compare items button - Click this button to compare checked items side by side.
- Sort by options - Click the pull down menu to sort the search results by the option selected.
- Filter options - Select the filter options, and click the "Go" or "Apply" button to filter the search results.
- Compare items checkbox - Click the checkbox to add to the items you wish you compare side by side.
- Search results ranking - The search results ranking of the item.
- Product or service title link - Click the title of the product or service link for more information.
- Open in new window image - Click the image to open the product or service link in a new web browser window.
- Save item - Click the "Save" link to save the item to your account. Click an author, company or category link for products and/or services listed underneath it.
- Item information - Description and other information about the product or service.
- Item image - A thumbnail image or screenshot of the product or service. Click the image to enlarge.
- RSS Feed links - Monitor the web page by clicking on a link to add the RSS Feed to a web or software based RSS Reader.
- FastFind Code - Each product or service is given an easy-to-remember, individual FastFind Code. Enter the FastFind Code into a search box, and click the "GoDefy Search" button or press "Enter" on your keyboard, to jump directly to the item.
